Within the love of Hades,

Persephone’s body rots.

The beauty of earth damned

from her vision

for death’s comfort.

Eventually she will forget

the events that led her into Hades’

arms; the blood left on the flowers

of the meadowed land.

Love will grow in her heart

like the trees grew from the earth,

and she’ll be happy in Hell.
